- OUR HISTORY -
Pentecostal Church of God in Christ was founded by Bishop V. B. Moore on March 28, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1953 he organized Pentecostal in the Riviera Beach area on 13th Street and later moved to 30th Street. Bishop Moore was the pastor until the Lord called him home.
As the congregation grew it was in need of a larger place for worship. In 1975 the property at 1289 West 28th Street in Riviera Beach was purchased. Within the year of 1978, the ground breaking took place in February, construction began in March and the edifice was completed in December.
The Dedication Service was held on the second Sunday in January of 1979. The congregation in praise and worship marched from 30th Street to the current location. The cornerstone was installed a year later on February 24, 1980.
Bishop John D. Alexander

As the church flourished, the John D. Alexander Daycare Center opened in January 1999. The name was later changed to the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ Child Development Center.

After serving in the US Army for 13 years he received an Honorable Discharge; Pastor Evans and Elect-Lady Evans returned to Palm Beach County and resumed their membership with the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, USA, Inc. The next event in their lives set the preordained purpose of Pastor of this local church, Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, USA, Inc.
Pastor Evans and Elect-Lady Annie Evans serviced under the leadership of the late Bishop John D. Alexander for eight years. In March 2002 he was installed as the first Assistant Pastor to the late Bishop John D Alexander, where he served until Bishop Alexander’s passing in November 2007; where Pastor Evans assumed the role as Pastor.
Pastor Evans was installed Pastor, on March 14, 2008. He and Elect-Lady Annie serve a modest sized congregation of people with diver’s ages and nationalities. He leads by the word of God with fasting and prayer. His desire is for the people to be whole in Christ and become equipped to make Disciples.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Pastor Evans believes that your trials will never be above you, nor will they ever be equal with you, but they will always be below you so that you, with God’s help, can handle whatever comes your way.
